What did they find?

Even though kids still experienced asthma symptoms, the reduced exposure to pollutants made a measurable difference in their need for emergency care.
The Blood Pressure Study
In a study by Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering in Boston, researchers looked at how using an Austin Air HealthMate purifier could improve the air in rooms and even lower people’s blood pressure.
What they did:
- Seventy-seven people who lived near Boston’s Logan Airport spent time in two kinds of rooms: one with an Austin Air purifier running, and one without.
- Scientists measured both the air quality and each person’s blood pressure while they were in those rooms.
What they found:
- In rooms with the Austin Air HealthMate, air pollution levels dropped by about 90%—air was up to ten times cleaner than rooms without a purifier.
- People in the cleaner rooms had lower blood pressure compared to when they were in rooms without the purifier.
Why that matters: Breathing cleaner air—especially air with fewer tiny particles from traffic or pollution—can reduce stress on the body and help keep blood pressure normal. Even small drops in blood pressure can help protect the heart long-term.
